Our Vision
At Warter C.E. Primary School, we intend for all pupils to learn in an inspiring, language-rich English environment.
We aim to foster a love of books and reading alongside a culture of writing for a variety of purposes and audiences.
Our youngest pupils begin their early reading and writing development supported by excellent systematic synthetic phonics teaching, which gives them the foundational skills needed to confidently segment, decode and build words.
As they mature, all pupils are given the opportunity to engage with a variety of texts from a range of perspectives. In doing so, not only do they improve their literacy skills but pupils develop a healthy respect for wider society and the rest of the world.
We intend for every child to leave our care as able and independent communicators, with the confidence and skills required to speak, listen, read and write effectively. They will be thoroughly prepared in all aspects of English and fully equipped for the next step in their educational journey.
‘One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.’
