Warter C. E. Primary School

"He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”Psalm 40:2. At Warter C.E. Primary School we are working together to provide a solid foundation to learn, grow and achieve through our Christian values of hope, perseverance, friendship and respect.

Diocese

As a Church of England school, we work closely with the Diocese of York to uphold and strengthen our Christian values, ethos, and vision. The Diocese provides support, guidance, and training to ensure our school community flourishes both spiritually and academically. Their involvement includes regular visits, input into collective worship, governance support, and collaboration on school development. Through this strong partnership, we are able to provide a nurturing, inclusive environment rooted in Christian faith, where every child is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

At Warter Church of England Primary School we have two Foundation Governors who are appointed by the York Diocese. The role of the Foundation Governor is to ensure that the school’s distinctive Christian character and values lie at the heart of the school in its development of the whole child. They ensure that key events in the Church year are celebrated by the school and embedded in the everyday life of the school community. They monitor impact of provision and talk to the children and teachers about the ethos of the school. As Foundation Governors they articulate the Christian vision of the school and oversee the ‘well-being’ of the whole school community.
